Here you will find information about operating a water softener.
Operation
How does it work
Hard water contains the combination of calcium (Ca), magnesium (Mg) and iron (Fe). The softening process serves as the removal of the positively charged ions by means of ion-exchanged resin. When the ion-exchanged resin loses its effectiveness it is regenerated by the resin. (See Diagram)
Step 1:
- Ensure that the "Installation" process has been done correctly.
- Fill the tank with salt tablets.
- Press the "Settings" button followed by the "Recycle" button and set the current time.
- Use the arrow keys to increase and decrease the values. Use the "Setting" button to navigate between Minutes and Hours.
ATTENTION
Its important to set the correct time as the appliance will automatically start the "regeneration" process at 2:00AM.
Step 2:
- Once the correct time is set press the "Setting" button to confirm the time.
- The display will now ask you to set the water hardness.
NOTE: The machine is factory programmed to 11DH hardness, use the "capacity table" for more information about water hardness specifications.
Step 3:
- Once the water hardness is set, press the "Settings" button to confirm the value entered.
- The system will also ask to set an "override" day this is referring to a schedule where the regeneration cycle will not take place.
For example: If the value entered is 3 then the regeneration cycle will only happen every 3 days. The value entered must be between 0 - 99
- Press "Settings" to save and exit, the display will now show the total capacity that the tank can process before regeneration cycle is necessary.
ATTENTION
To properly take out the air from the system initiate the regeneration cycle manually.
After the first regeneration, the device is ready to work. (see how to manually start regeneration process)
