Operation

 

 

Step 1:

NOTE: Make sure the appliance in assembled correctly and positioned in a safe location (if fitted with wheels, put on the brakes).

  • Open the lid and remove the cooking grid to gain access to the firebox.
  • Place a small amount of charcoal on the perforated plate and evenly distribute a few firelighters over the coals. Then put another (thin) layer of charcoal over them. When doing so, make sure that the coals are loosely placed on top of each other and oxygen can easily circulate throughout.

 

Step 2:

  • Completely open all the vents and light the firelighters using a long safety match or extended lighter. Keep the lid open at first.

NOTE: The appliance is ready for use when all open flames are gone and the coals are covered in a gray/white layer of ash.

 

Step 3:

  • Place the cooking grid back in its original position and start cooking!
  • After use, close the lid and all vents, then let the fire or coals burn out and extinguish naturally.

ATTENTION! 

Do not use water to extinguish the fire or coals, this can cause damage to the ceramics.
